Hi there

Today I found the reason for why my w7 wont enter its becuase of AMD video driver

I found it by having a new windows and rebooting the system every time when i installed a new driver

I successfully set i7 3820 at 1.25x34=4.25Ghz with turbo boost disable

I didnt touch vtt and left vcore at 1.3

It booted up everytime but not after i installed AMD drivers for 7970s

I tried from 12.1-12.4 and none of it worked out well

Did I miss somehting that I shouldnt miss or its AMD's problem?

Thanks for reading it

Are you absolutely sure your overclock is stable?

Yep Yep.... I used the same setting installed w7 and everything else

the only thing I havent down is to run the benchmark becuase I got video driver problem

I rebooted the system everytime after each driver was installed until 12.4 (Also 12.1-12.3) for 7970s

Besides that.... I only clocked it at 4.25 GHz (1.25x34 with turbo off) lol

How can you be sure it's stable if you haven't run any sort of stability tests? Installing Windows and applications is not an indication of stability at all.

Run Prime95 followed by IntelBurnTest to make sure you aren't chasing a problem that doesn't exist.

I can tell you my experience with the 3820 and overclocking is that you need to boost the Vcore to get over about 4 GHz and be stable. You really need to test stability if you are overclocking before moving to other issues being the root of a problem.

I will put my hand on it today

What version IntelBurnTest I should use?

You'll know if it's stable after 1 or two rounds of Prime95, only takes 15 minutes a round. Much better than IBT to find stability.

Ok.... Im gonna do it right away

Thanks a lot

I just passed the first 2 round of prime95, self-test 1024k and 8k for total 8 threads in 31 mins

I checked each worker and no error showed up

Once I put the AMD videro driver 12.3 for 7970....

I still stuck at entering windows 7

So, I entered safe mode to remove the driver and windows became normal again

Thanks^^
