DeathNote Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I currently own a NZXT Phantom and the built-in fan controller has failed. NZXT is replacing it, but I want to get a standalone controller. This is just my excuse. I have a total of 5 fans that will be connected to the controller. 2x NZXT 200mm (LINK) 1x Cooler Master 140mm (LINK) 2x Cooler Master 120mm (LINK) I am currently looking at the following Fan Controllers: NZXT Sentry 2 NZXT Sentry LX NZXT Sentry Mix Personally, I like the look and feel of the Sentry LX, but I want a good & functional controller over looks. Any suggestions?
sticknstone Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Without a doubt the 50w/channel "mix" will win the award here. The "2" will meet the needs like a glove (although I would feel safer with a test reading of the a the fans off/on cycle will pull with a multimeter). The "lx" sorry to say will just blow up literally. The 120 and 140 fans can all be used on the controllers without a problem, but when it comes to the 200 fan at .42a the startup fan a and the 12v line fluctuations will limit the choice of fan controller to controllers with greater w/channel. d6bmg Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 NZXT Sentry Mix. But I highly doubt over its capability of advertised 50Watt/channel. Although it is way better than other two. (not lookwise)
DeathNote Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I wanted one with an RPM readout on it, but I'll take quality over an RPM readout anyday.
d6bmg Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Its Wattage/channel is what matters most in case of fan controller and it also affects lifetime of that controller. Your call.
