Shurman292 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 That's awful dude I would talk to the retailer where you bought it (Newegg, Microcenter, etc.) first. If they are not able to help you, take it up directly with Intel's customer service. They should honor their product and send you a new one. As for the Motherboard, I'm not sure how old it is but you should be able to send that back to the retailer as well, explaining what happened. Was the socket protector still in place when you took the board out of the box?

Waco Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Looks like the bent pins on the board blew/broke one of the pads off of the CPU. It's probably trashed along with the mobo if they shorted together...

Was the still in place when you took the board out of the box? no i didn't angle it i just put it vertically and aligned it with the Notches in the Socket and the socket protector WAS ON when i puy it i think that there were a pins taller that others i'm going to RMA the Mobo but the CPU i don't know what to do
