black diamond Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 hi everyone im new to this overclocking thing i have a lian li case with 775watt psu a m5a99x evo board with gskill ripjaw 8 gig memmory a hyper 212 plus cooler with 2 120mm fans a his radion hd 6790 graphics card 2 36 gig raptor 10'000 rpm c drive 1 320 gig drive and a 1 terabite drive and a amd phenom ii x6 1055t prossessor the bios tells me im only showing 1333 so i went to overclock it in the ai suit ii and nly got it to clock to 3.5 and i still think its running on the 1333 can anyone tell me what im doing wrong any help woul be great Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Boinker Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Are you increasing the fsb, front side bus, or the cpu multiplier to overclock the cpu?? If you use the Fsb you will effect all frequencies such as ram hyper transport nb frequency and sb frequency. If you overclock using the cpu multiplier you will on change the cpu frequency. And if you are using the multiplier then keep doing that as it will be the easiest method to overclocking.this way you can overclock one thing at a time. Check out our community.oc.guide and Snag a processor specific guide for your chip and read up on it as that will be the best way for you learn everything you.need to know. My thoughts.
