Tjj226_Angel Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Not sure why you ditz on Kingston, of all the brands I have used over the years the ONLY RAM that has NEVER had an issue has been Kingston! I am not hating on kingston. Believe me, I do love the company, just not their cheap ram. This has all given me time to think though. I think I have only had 3 DOA sticks of ram from Newegg, and probably 4 with voltages issues. However, I have had somewhere close to 20 bad sticks with Microcenter. Up until now I have always thought of it as just ram issues, but would any of you think it is a Microcenter issue? The only reason I have not really put any weight into that idea is because I know they have strict return policy with DOA items as to handling them and sending them back to the supplier. Would it still be possible my bad luck is store related?????????????
DrDigitized2 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 @Tjj, Do you happen to work at Microcenter? I have seen you mention them several times.

No I volunteer right around the corner from them, so when I am done I just stop by and pick up some things.

justhuman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Hi all, Thank you for the feedbacks. Did not expect the post to turn into a discussion on RAM. I saw on tomhardware.com benchmark the Kingston HyperX T1 is ranked top, what do you guys think of this RAM? Will it fit with most motherboard, due to its large size? Stonerboy779 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 HyperX isn't large it will fit you could find something else to use too. Also are you still planning on the 1000watt PSU? And another question where are you buying from invade I missed it I can't seem to see you saying or linking any products.
justhuman Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) Hi all, After some further research, with performance price ratio as the main consideration, the current rig is as follow. I will be overclocking the cpu to 4.5hz, and future crossfire. Please let me know if there is something terribly wrong with the setup (will it run?). Also do let me know if you know any better deal than what I have here. I do not have a micro center near by, so their in store deals are out of reach for me. Really appreciate it. Stonerboy779 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 (edited) Ditch the Tim the stock grease with the 212+ is fine You can switch the msi p67 with an asrock z68 for the same price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157279 Otherwise solid choices will take a quick look for better deals if any. Ram is good but if you go with this patriot ram it will fit under the 212+ with push pull fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220570 Edited January 28, 2012 by Stonerboy779
