Lian Li fans

Does anyone know the specs on these at all, or compared them to other fans? I just recently purchased a pc-k63 and am using the stock fans, but I have 4x Xigmatek 140mm fans and am wondering which are going to push more air. With warmer temps starting to creep in I'm looking for the better setup to keep my pc cooler. The xigmateks push 63cfm @ 1000rpm and are <19 dba I believe. Also considering buying a couple higher cfm fans for the rear/top exhaust.

My system specs are in my sig, current temps are roughly 30*C idle and 49*C full load with ambient being roughly 20*C. CPU is currently OC'd to 3.8ghz with a Noctua NH-D14 w/ the stock NT-H1 TIM.

Get the number off the back side of one of the 140mm fans and type that number into a search feild and that should bring up the fan you are looking at.

Its just rough because alot of times manufactures will not put down what curtain fans will be capable of or what kind of fan they are besides a 120-140-80mm fan... sheesh right.

well good luck. I'm sure the fans in there now are not bad in the least.

I have that same case and I love it  but yeah the stock fans dont seem to move much air at all.. For 4 140mm fans I expected better..

Yea I'm loving it too! I also expected it to move a little more air then what it's doing now, but I guess I was expecting a bit too much from stock fans. I'm just gonna change them all out, I have a bunch of fans from my previous case that are pretty nice to swap in there. I was just being lazy and hoping for the best haha :teehee:

Its funny at first I thought it was somewhat ugly but now the looks have definitely grown on me  cable management options could be a little better though. If you do come across any decently priced 140mm fans feel free to link me up ;)

Xigmatek fans are nice. They are definitely far better than the Lian Li stock fans.

Googled the s/n on the 140mm stock lian li fans and according to this review they are rated at 73 CFM? I run them all right off a molex right off the PSU so do you think if I were to swap these for some of these 140mm off newegg which are rated at 60-65 would I see any airflow improvement? These stock fans must be overrated cause it doesn't feel like they push any air at all.

Just out of curiosity what are you using to monitor your temps? CoreTemp?

The Lian Li fans, imo, have too many fan blades. They're good at pushing and circulating existing air, but not good at pulling in cooler new air.

So do you think if I switched out my front two intake fans for some xigmatek or NZXT fans would I see any temp improvements?

The front intake fans are there to usually cool your hard drives, but it would at least bring in a little more cooler air. It won't improve your temps a whole lot. You'll see more temp improvements closer to wherever you put fans that need cooling improvements. Side or bottom of the case for GPU's, rear or CPU Heatsink for CPU.

First, I'd upgrade the fan on the Hyper 212+ to a push/pull if you're looking for CPU temps to improve.

Second, mod the side panel window to fit in a 120mm fan to push air towards the GPU.

Third, mod the bottom of the case to allow room for a 120mm fan to push new air upwards (much more difficult than the second option).

If you're able to add in extra intake airflow, you can always reverse the rear fan to be an intake, and only have outtake air with the two fans on the top of the case, and point the fans on the Hyper 212+ exhausting upwards.

If you don't want to mod anything, you could try reversing the rear fan as an intake, point the Hyper 212+ fans to push/pull towards the top fans, and place a fan on the bottom (without a mod) to push incoming air from the front fans upwards for better circulation.

Wow thanks for the great info  Modding the side window for a dedicated GPU fan I will definitely do in the near future. As for the bottom its solid metal so I would have to cut the hole and drill the mounting holes but I have some pretty good experience in metalworking so perhaps down the line if I get desperate. Do you think with the Hyper 212+ with two high end loud fans can take me to 4.0 Ghz on the 1090t with acceptable temps?
