broooooooce Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Looks alright to me--for the price. The 350W PSU that comes with the case is a bit disconcerting, but not because of it wattage--because its a cheap OEM PSU. I searched around and zoomed in on the pic on NewEgg to get a model number TM-350-PMSR Specs: +12v - 10A +5v - 14A +3.3V - 14A Efficiency: 65% Typically <----- pretty terrible Fan: Sleeve Bearing 80mm Fan I couldn't find anything on whether or not it was very noisy, altho I found one claim from a seller that it ran quietly. I only bothered because you mentioned doing sound stuff and I didn't know if that meant you needed a QUIET PC or not. 350W is more than enough for that box though since you aren't going to be dropping a high end video card in it. If you could fork out the extra cash, I strongly urge you to get a decent SSD for an OS drive. This place is selling that PSU for under 10 dollars. It might be worth seeing if you can't find one a bit more efficient if you can spare the cash. If not, I imagine it'll work alright--but I hate to suggest a person skimp on their PSU because it is a component more prone to failure than others. Savan Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The number one pc part to invest money in is a good PSU. It holds the life of all your hardware in its hands, and a good one will last you several builds & save you money by being more efficient. The only thing I would trust a $10 psu for is being a paper weight
My_Inner_Fred Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 So what are you planning to use as your GPU?
Jordan Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hey guys, thanks for the response. I will definitely look into a better power supply. I'm just going to use the integrated graphics on the motherboard since I won't be doing any graphically intensive things.
hermes09 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Look good, but for audio editing i suggest you get a dedicated sound card dude... and i'm with caxis0, add a small SSD for faster loading time...
gotdamojo06 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 check out my FS thread if you need a GPU, a few older models but they will give you a little bit better graphics if you do decide to game with the setup like others have suggested, I would look into a different PSU, they can be pretty decent price if you are looking for a low wattage one. Adding this PSU will bring your total to roughly 510$

Had my Corsair HX620 through several builds and keeps on keeping on with no troubles.
