eltaf350 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Ive taken 2 screen shots using Gpuz One is the Nvidia GE Force 500 GT (256mb on sticker, yet shows 512mb on gpuz?) DDR 2 & the other ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB DDR2 Have 2 computers PC1 – Has the 500 GT (Core 2 Duo E4300, 3gb ddr2 ram) PC2 – Has the HD 5450, this will be the gaming one (AMD phenom x2 555, 4gb ddr3, standard 19” Monitor) Before anyone says buy yourself a better one, this isn’t the point. Should I swap cards or keep them as they are in their current pc's? Does HD 5450 perform better when using DDR3 memory? according the belowe figures, its seems that idoes Radeon HD 5450 ^ 650 MHz 800 MHz (DDR2) or 1.6 GHz (DDR3) 64-bit 6.4 GB/s (DDR2) or 12.8 GB/s (DDR3) 80 ***** 11 All I want to know is which is best of the 2 for gaming before & after over-clocking too. It complicated as 1 part can be better than the other When explaining, which data is the most importatnt & be specific relating to the data on GPUZ Can DirectX from 10 to 11 make a big difference? thanks
Waco Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I would think the 5450 would be better but I can't find any direct comparisons right this second...
00stevo Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Ok,i read your post but i really have to say: Get a better card! Those cards are not made for gaming(which you clearly want to do some of).Pick yourself up a cheap 9800gt or a HD4850 or something,it'll be worth it. AIinc Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 If you just want a "leave it, or swap cards" answer, I'd have to say leave it as is! But yes, for gaming, I would recommend a better card!
CowKing Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 (edited) 5450 overclocked Edited October 25, 2010 by CowKing
deadnlovinit89 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 The 5450 would perform beter even not overclocked...and plus DirectX11 as well if I remember correctly yes? the 8500 GT doesn't have that and I had that card a long time ago. :/ Idk about the exact overclocking ability of the 5450 but it probably wont show you to much of an increase to begin with :/ but either way swapping it out...yeah I'd use the 5450 instead of the 8500 GT
