There are some mechanical boards that can be quite silent. It all depends on the type of switch used, but there are some that are pretty quiet.

I'm talking old school mechanical keyboards, like the ones off my DX2 60-something mhz rig. I love that loud click sound, I still use that keyboard. :happy:

There certainly is something to the old keyboards, and you knew they were not going to break. I still have a mechanical packered bell keyboard.
