Which one to believe?

alright ive used two temp monitoring programs, asus probe utility, and speedfan they are both technically reporting different temps for the cpu and im unsure of which one i should beileve i posted a pic of my desktop with both programs active, tell me what u think! or if you know a way to figure out which is the actual right reading thanks. in the pic speedfan says 58c and asus says 53c its confusing me.. im thinking speedfan is right but idk because i have a asus mobo and why wouldnt it work correctly with my mobo and give me a bad reading, if you notice though there is a section on speedfan that says 53c aswell... so idk

 

EDIT: i also just checked CORETEMP and it gives me the same reading as speed fan... so that furthers my theory but with a asus mobo why would asus incorrectly write a program.. that seems like stupidity to me

Probably 1 of 2 reasons:

 

1. The TJMax is set wrong on the Asus program.

2. Most likely the Asus program is giving you CPU temp and not CPU CORE temp.

 

I personally never thought highly of the quality on Asus products, used to work RMA for a computer distributer and Asus was all I saw. That being said, Asus has a significantly larger market share which could be the reason for the larger number of RMAs.

 

But, I do buy a lot of Asus products just because of the good customer support.

alright that being said.. CORE temp is more important than CPU temp correct? and the core temps what i have to keep from hitting 62 c right?

Hello,

 

I suggest you use CoreTemp or RealTemp. They will both give you the accurate reading of the Cores Temperatures.

Realtemp is what we use in most of our reviews, if not all of them, for monitoring CPU core temperatures.
