3DCGdesign Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Can anyone enlighten me on this question regarding this power connector on the motherboard? thank you sdy284, wevsspot, nanoprobe, hardnrg, and xchrissypoox for your replies! I am impressed with the Overclockers Club community! :thumbs-up: Edited April 13, 2010 by 3DCGdesign
3DCGdesign Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 3610 MHz = 81* max temp after 17mins on Prime95 Blend. ok so far. 180 BCLK +.1V on CPU 1.8V CPU PLL +.1V on QPI I will try to work my way up to 3.8 but will likely call it a night. Thanks for all your help! Think that I will need to do more with my case to get the airflow right to the cooler, but still run quiet. It's very dusty here, so want to keep that out too... any advice will be welcome.
hardnrg Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 the EPS12V connector is split for backwards compatibility... on yours, one is keyed and can only fit in one place... the other goes in the remaining space invest in quiet case fans... check out http://www.quietpc.com for a taste of silent fan choices I would recommend against disabling the rear exhaust fan as this will increase all temps, and put extra strain and reduce the life of the PSU (if it is exhausting the heat instead of the rear fan)
3DCGdesign Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 thx hardnrg, @ Mr. Staypuft... I see your temps at 70 here. Is is ok for this corei7 920 to run at temps around 75C for 8-12hrs or longer nearly every day? (rendering animations, for instance)
