Hyper Threaded Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Now that it's getting warmer, it's time for me to stop folding for a while. In the past days, it's gotten to over 80f in my bedroom, thanks to the PC and PS3 working away. Depending on the local weather, I may start folding again. At this point, looking like at least two or three weeks off. I can use my room A/C to cool things down a bit, though I dislike having the temperature sky rocket back up again. CheeseMan42 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I'm also done. Way too hot to keep it going.
sdy284 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 i've found a simple window fan makes a world of a difference for bedroom ambient temps I use something like this, although i haven't had to bust mine out yet since it's hasn't gotten warm enough you can find them at any Target, WalMart, etc etc
Hyper Threaded Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 (edited) The problem isn't cooling the room, I have a 13,000 BTU A/C in here which cools very quickly. I just don't want to be running it 24/7 because it's expensive to do so. I may still fire up the GPU client once in a while, though. sdy284 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 when i had my window AC, i would just run it @ night when i was sleeping so I wouldn't wake up drenched with sweat, then i'd turn it off when i left for the day. Hyper Threaded Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I have no intention of stopping completely. After a few weeks, we will start using the central A/C and I'll ramp up my production again.
OwinC Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 With my two rigs folding. I will spend around $30-$50 a year, for 24-7 use.
