New Build Keyboard

I just have a question about PS2 keyboards. I have just built 2 new computers and had to use an old PS2 keyboard to get started. I understand this, but I bought and tried a USB to PS2 adapter, but it wouldn't work. My son is having the same experience. Why won't the adapters work?

some BIOS have options that need to be turned on for usb devices in boot/bios

what type of bios are you using? or at least the mobo model so maybe we can determine the exact option or issue it may be?

I have Gigabyte motherboards... When the PC is booting, boot to the Bios screen by hitting and then holding the DELETE key off and on for about 1 second bursts. I'm not sure why, but when I try to hit it only once, it doesn't take. In the Bios area, choose the Integrated Peripherals option by using your DOWN arrow and then ENTER. Go down the list and set the USB Keyboard and Mouse to ENABLE and you're set. Then make sure you SAVE and EXIT
