Rankiz Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 my laptop (5920g) won't boot from the CDROM, I've been in bios and changed it to boot first, it still just start windows. So I copied the OS over on a USB drive, with only the OS on the usb drive I booted again, now with the USB drive first on the boot list. Still doesn't work, telling me "Invalid or damaged bootable partition".

wevsspot Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Ran, In order to boot and install Windows 7 from a USB key - the key has to be made bootable in addition to the OS installation files. Katas Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Just curious but does the CD just have a file called windows 7.iso on it or does it show the installation files on it?
Rankiz Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) When I disable everything except the CDROM, I get "Operation system not found." To Katas, it's a ISO file, not maps and installing files. wevsspot Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Ran, There is a problem with the CDROM installation disk then or possibly your optical drive. Where did you get the .iso from? Did you create it yourself or is this a digital download of Windows 7 installation disk?
