Won't boot

my laptop (5920g) won't boot from the CDROM, I've been in bios and changed it to boot first, it still just start windows. So I copied the OS over on a USB drive, with only the OS on the usb drive I booted again, now with the USB drive first on the boot list. Still doesn't work, telling me "Invalid or damaged bootable partition".

Ran,

 

In order to boot and install Windows 7 from a USB key - the key has to be made bootable in addition to the OS installation files. It isn't as simple as just copying the ISO to a USB drive and it working (unfortunately). Here are the instructions for doing that;

 

Install Windows Vista or Windows 7 using a USB Key

 

Get a 4 or 8Gb USB key and format using NTFS file system

When I disable everything except the CDROM, I get "Operation system not found."

 

To Katas, it's a ISO file, not maps and installing files.

Ran,

 

There is a problem with the CDROM installation disk then or possibly your optical drive. Where did you get the .iso from?

 

Did you create it yourself or is this a digital download of Windows 7 installation disk?
