katalizor Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Hey guys, I wanna OC my new i7 920. I wanna push it above 3.0. I almost read all articles. I think I should make CPU voltage 1.4 for a stable system. And BCLK should be 150 for 3.0Ghz. Should I change anything else? Please just tell me what the best settings are?? My computer is below: ASUS P6T SE X58 Socket | Intel Core i7 920 @3.5GHz | OCZ 6GB (3*2) Kit Platinum Edition DDR3 1333MHz CL7 | Sapphire HD5870 GDDR5 1GB 256Bit| Seagate 1TB 32MB 7200RPM SATA-II NCQ| LG 22X SATA DVD LAYER | Samsung SyncMaster 23.6" 2494HS | Thermaltake Toughpower 750W | CoolerMaster HAF 922 MidT ATX | Windows 7 64-Bit Professional
nanoprobe Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I found a pretty good guide here. I don't think you need 1.4 on the CPU for stability. My i7 is running at 3.99GHz on 1.25 volts. If you're going to OC I highly recommend you invest in a quality cooler. The i7s run hot. Good luck and remember, Google is your friend. ccokeman Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Only feed your CPU what it needs. FOr 3.0 a bclock of 150 should be easy for a DO stepping with no voltage increase. Depends on your CPU though as they all are different.
