Sworn_Vendetta Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Ok in a few weeks time I will be getting a core i7 920 and I wish to overclock it. It will be cooled with a corsair h50 water cooler and Ill be using a EVGA x58 classified 3x sli motherboard. This is how I interpreted all the guides.... YOu leave the ram alone just have everything set to auto and then you make the cpu multiplier the lowest it can go to. Once you've done that you start raising the base clock up by intervals of like 10 until you can get it to go any higher and still be stable. You then start raising the multiplier up by intervals of 1 until it to won't go any higher, this is when you increase the voltages by a small amount and start raising the multiplier again, then you rinse and repeat with the voltages and the multiplier whilst making sure not to go over 1.45v on the processor core voltage. All other voltages can just be set to auto so the cpu pll, the uncore and the memory voltages. Does this sound about right?
