Scottike Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I just mounted the backing plate for my new Meghalem cpu cooler on my motherboard and this thing is way sloppy/loose, like almost 1/8 of an inch between the mounting plates and motherboard (this is an Asus/AMD system). I realize that as I mount the cooler itself it will pull everything snug, but I'm a little concerned that this may be a little too much clearance, and may allow the cooler to move around too much. Should I place some nylon washers to tighten things up a little bit, or is this much clearance acceptable? I understand that it shoudn't be mounted too tightly onto the motherboard, but how loose is too loose?
