QuantumX Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 You can also try IntelBurnTest for stress testing
TheScavenger Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 For those of us running i7/i5 setups I find Argus Monitor pretty handy. http://www.argusmonitor.com/en/turboboost.php
Bandrew Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I also like MSI Afterburner for GPU stuff. (fans, clock speeds)
PingoPongo Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 +1 on the MSI Afterburner. It has an option for setting the fan speed accoding to the temp. Example.
Bizzlenitch Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I'll second Intel Burn Test (IBT). I've added it to my list of necessary stress test programs and appreciate the fact that in all likelihood any system stable for 10-20 passes through IBT will be more than stable for any normal use, at least in my mind. YMMV.
QuantumX Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 If you use IBT make sure u have a WELL ventilated case or a good cooler. I've seen it cook a core2 duo up to 80 degrees with the stock cooler @ stock speed.
