What do the experts think ?

......................................................

Also it has been years since i overclocked and it was an AMD. I will be water cooling this system with my original gear (new blocks) it has a 25litre tank with two pumps so has the movement. I ran an old AMD single core thing for years @2525mhz anyway....I was going to ask can anyone give me a clue what the intel chip could run at and if you had any usefull links. voltage, multi etc etc.

Thanks for reading this and for any input.

evga makes good motherboards too. I wouldn't toss them out of the lineup.

Overall looks like a pretty decent build. What resolution will you be running? You might be able to save some money on the video card if you're running like 1680x1050 or below.

evga is very very good

but gigabyte is better in overclocking (msi , asus as well )

right now i think 5870 or gtx 280

5870 kicks 285 butt , and 280 can get to 285 performance level

275 is very good , it gives almost the same performance of 285 with very cool price

if you want to throw money on 285

5870 will be better

by the way , what games do you want to play .................?
