rourkchris Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 The best thing you can do is get good airflow between these 2 cards. I have a m-atx board and they were squeezed together pretty tight and still ran within spec. They weren't inside of a case but on a bench of course. I don't think the vapor-x really pushes heat out the back of the case.
N.E.A Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I have my fan set at a constant 60% me too but 5% higher ...
N.E.A Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) 100% is the rated speed of the fan. It's not bad for it at all. i think the fan will be tired , running at full speed 24/7.......... rourkchris Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 i think the fan will be tired , running at full speed 24/7.......... It's not alive so I doubt it will feel tired. There should be no harm at all running it at 100% fan speed. 100% isn't needed though as it is running in the range that it's rated to run now. rourkchris Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 there's something wrong with your card,,first time i run my 4870 the temperature was about 60 idle and 80 full load, but after change the fan speed to 50% the temperature just about 40 idle and 50 full load,, maybe the fan is not work correctly or maybe some other stuff is defect @_@ i think there's a right to ask what you don't know and ask what you want to know,,and give opinion to thing that you have experienced at,, but whatever,, i join this forum just to find a knowledge,, huff,, maybe not everyone as friendly as i thought,, nvm,, "There's something wrong with your card" Statements like that call your advice into question. Do your 4870s use vapor-x coolers? If not then where is the experience you're speaking of? VGA Card HIS HD 4870 ICEQ 4 in your sig tells me you don't have a vapor-x cooler. You gave your opinion as a statement of fact when in fact you have no experience to base your opinion from. You have every right to ask any question you want or give your opinion on anything that that you want. Nobody is stopping you. Don't be shocked or offended if your opinion is questioned. Then you had a bad fan to begin with. The speed increase isn't what killed it.
