Overclocking an E8400

So today was the first time I properly overclocked an E8400.

I got it to 4.15GHZ and was working my way up to 4.3GHZ when I decided it wasn't worth the voltage I was putting into the chip and northbridge.

About the northbridge voltage, what's the limit? I'm at 1.18 now vs. 1.1 stock.

Well for the northbridge on my motherboard I can go up to 1.6v and not really worry about it. I would say 1.5v for a general rule of thumb because some boards are different than others of course.

Holy crap! I was scared to go above 1.12 LOL!

Hahaha yea don't worry about it. If you are really scared about it just feel the northbridge heatsink and make sure it isn't hot to the touch. If it is you can add a fan directed towards it or obviously turn down the voltage.
