CJBizzy Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Hi. I overclocked my cpu an AMD II X4 940 phenom deneb 3.0ghz. I upped the multiplier x1 at a time like I read at a tutorial and left my core voltage on stock on 1.3500v. I left the FSB alone to 200. I overclocked to 16.5 x 200 (3.3ghz) and I restarted my pc and it booted up fine. However when I shut down my pc and try booting it up after about 30 minutes it will not boot up and all I'm getting is theblack screen. I know this processor comes with an unlocked multiplier.. did i do something wrong in my process? oh and also, i am using the heatsink and fan that came with the cpu.. :/

potatochobit Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 did you change anything else, your RAM memory speed/timings or northbridge? reset the bios, your motherboard should have a safe boot or u can clear the CMOS try again and change the multiplier to

potatochobit Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) you probably need to increase the CPU voltage to get 3.3ghz. but first lets set it back to x16 to see if it is stable or if something else is causing a problem. you have the latest bios update correct?
