slarsen83 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 just ran 3dmark 06 for the first time...... i have ran 3dmark03 before this and those CPU testers seemed to work fine, however my jaw almost hit the floor when i seen what the CPU test in 3dmark 06 was telling me.... i think i might have seen 3 FPS for a split second, what is going on here? yes i am OC'd to what i believe is stable (ran OCCT, amd overdrive stability test) am i overlooking something here???? basically wondering if this is a sign of instability, i am happy with my overall score (14,637) as i only expected to score 11-12k any thoughts? ideas? suggestions? thanks! Andrewr05 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 The CPU is not optimized to calculate graphics, I don't even know if people get over 10 fps on that test. (correct me if I'm wrong) It is normal for that test to be low fps...
Royalfork Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) I've never seen more than 3 or 4 fps on either of my proc.....Q6600/QX6850 at clocks up tp 3.6 As Andrew said...It shouldn't produce significant fps as processors are not optimized for graphics. slarsen83 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 whew ok.....that kinda helps me not feel so crappy about my setup........just out of curiosity and a tad un-related to the original concept of this post, what kinda of an effect would you get having crossfire ?? would you get better scores? Comp Dude2 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 You will get much better scores because that benchmark likes pure processing power, so quad cores and crossfire setups are king. However you'll see a much smaller increase in real life gaming.
slarsen83 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 thanks for the response......i was going to do it anyways....but was just wondering if it does affect the score (more for comparison to other systems sake)
