boeingaviation Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Hey everyone, Just wanted to post and get some advice if may please? I've had a Zalman 9700LED for the past 8 months and I'm just not happy with it's performance. Underload on my E8500 (Overclocked to 3.99ghz) my cpu is getting to around 55-60 Edited July 25, 2009 by boeingaviation
Black_Raven Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) I just recently got a Cooler Master V8 and my e7300 (at 3.8ghz) under load never gets above 44 degrees Celsius according to real temp, my case is also an antec 900. I think getting the V8 was a great choice. Edited July 25, 2009 by Black_Raven
Verran Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Seems like a lot of money spend on knocking your temps down a few degrees. I really don't think a new case and a V8 is going to make a drastic change in your temps. You said your friend got 11c but you didn't say what case he changed from plus he had a lower cooler than you to start. I think if you do these upgrades you're probably going to get 5-7c difference tops. I just don't see it being a big change, and you're going to be spending a lot of money. A lot of it depends on the voltages you and your friend are running. If you're pumping a lot of volts through that E8500 to get it up that high, then there might not be much you can do. I would really think hard about the case upgrade though. I don't think that's going to make much difference at all. The case you have now is fine. If you insist on spending money, I'd start with the V8 first and see how that does.
iOverclock Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I would upgrade the cooler but just add antec tricool fans or something that blows the same amount to the CM 690. No point changing to a Antec 902 when the cm 690 can hold alot of fans at crucial spots.
