Rockrtx Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I just built and i7 920 rig and overclocked at 3.2 Got Noctua hh-u12p with the 2 fan for cooling. 1 hour of prime95 got max temp core of 65 degre. CPU voltage at 1.23750 in bios. Your temp look a bit high.
DLS2008 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 The i7s run really hot, but they still have a low Intel Thermal Spec. There just aren't really any air coolers that can fully handle an i7. The TRUE and the Noctua U12P are the best coolers for the i7, but still not good enough. Ccokeman even said that his water cooling was giving high numbers. They're just really hot processors, but they still can't be run that hot. Low 70s is about as high as you should go.
Compxpert Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Hmm 3.4 and I'm still holding 70C full load temps.

ccokeman Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted in your other thread! But I have a Swiftech 320 Rad, 3 Scythe Kaze 2000 RPM fans, Dangerdaen D5 Vario, and a Swiftech GTZ block with 1366 adapter, add the tubing and clamps and you will end up up just over 2 bills.
