Ziggy54354 Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 I just got a "craftsman" rotary tool. Sears ran out of demels and they said it was the closest thing they had to it. They even said it was sears version of dremel. Have any of you guys tried this? I had to buy it in a hurry cause i need it for a project for school, thats y i didnt wait for them to restock on dremels.
Guest FxXP Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 Hmm, bootlegs can never be a duplicate, only imitating junk. Craftsman does make good stuff though like their wrenches.
Some_Guy_ Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 I would tend to trust the Craftsman as well as I'd trust my Dremel. Sears won't want to ruin their good tool reputation by putting their name on some piece of junk.
ravix Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 Yeah, I'd trust it as well. No worries man. tell us if it breaks though, so I can stick my foot in my mouth.
ccokeman Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 Shouldn't have a problem with it . I'll put my 1/2 drill of thiers against some of the milwaukee and makita drills i have had .so far its older and i havent burnt it up. Ziggy54354 Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 it didnt break but it did come with missing parts. I ended up returning it and going to home depot and bought a real dremel. Im happy with it so far. I havent cut anything yet but just seeing it spin at 35,000 RPMs put a smile on my face.
asus Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 My grandfather has a craftsman rodary tool thin, it cuts through anything "after his dremmel broke" he droped it on the floor. and the plastic broke, but the craftsman "when he droped it" did not break.. Craftsman is tougher but dremel cuts better!! Just as long as you dont drop it i usta have a pic of his busted dremel, with all the stuff hangen out.. but i formated so much, that a doubt it made it to a cd
