Daniel_Sama Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) Hi everyone I am going to build a PC soon based on an Athlon 64X2 with a 9800gt. I'm mainly gonna use the machine for light gaming (mmos) and watching DVDs. Ive narrowed my monitor search down to these two. Kingfisher Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 DVI FTW! Yep. DVI will alow you to have up to 1080 picture quality and will provide a much clearer view than VGA could.

Kingfisher Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Ah thankyou, I didn't know DVI would allow for 1080! DVI is HDMI without the audio part. It will be more than adequate for dvd viewing.

hardnrg Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 You can have a resolution of 1920x1080 on both VGA and DVI Neither of those monitors can show 1080p, it will be scaled down to 945p The main difference is DVI is inherently *sharper* and has better *colours* simply because the signal is digital... DVI also supports 2560x1600 whereas VGA doesn't (not standardly anyway)
