tonesdef Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 so this is my first post. I have screwed around with OC before but havn't really tried to keep it stable or any thing. I have a Intel e5200 dual core, p5ql pro MB, MSI n9800gt gc, and 2gigx2 ocz ddr2 1066 OCZ2F10664GK. I have messed with the FSB in BIOS and on asus AI overclocking tool. Every time i do i have tried very small incriments fsb from 200 to 220 x12.5 multiplier. When ever i try to overclock anything the MB gives me an error saying the EPU-4 Engine cannont run in under overclocking mode. I figured at first it just turned off the power saving ability. But i have tried running several programs inc War Online and CPU-Z says my comp is at 2.7mhz but the game lags worse than it did when i had my old intel pent 4. Also the ram runs at 400x2 so only 800 fsb. I have tried to get it to actually run at the stated 1066fsb but it wont run at that speed it just crashes when ever i try to set it up through bios. Any help or a point in the right direction would be great.
viperk1 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 No idea about the EPU4 thing. For the ram, make sure its at the rated voltage, as well as having the right timings and speed.

Well i figured out the p5ql pro can't support 1066 ram it seems so other than that. Others seem to have oc'd this MB fine but i'm running into problems. tkrow21 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Your motherboard supports 1066MHZ DDR2 Ram. Did you make sure to run your ram at the specified timings and voltages?
tonesdef Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 the support guy on the ocz forum said that my mb isn't able too. And yeah i have before he told me it got slow after that though
GeneralDodanna Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 (edited) I have 1066 RAM running fine in my P5QL Pro... I have the OCZ Fatal1ty 2x2GB set and it takes 7 7 7 20 v2.0 to run it in 1066 and from what I hear thats how you set it for 4 to run as well... I am however running with a Q9550 but dont think that has much to do with it ok just noticed those are the same sticks I have and Im pretty sure they arent on the QVL but they run on mine.. I bought them after noticing a review from someone with a P5QL Pro as well so eh... not sure why yours isnt running with them because mine is running them at 1066 fine Edited November 25, 2009 by GeneralDodanna
