camcafe Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hello, I am looking a sugguestion on a motherboard that let me adjust the multiplier when overclocking Q6600 chip if I can give the board under $100 would like nice. Thanks
Ste Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) There is no motherboard in exsistence that will allow one to increase a locked multi. You can only decrease it. Edit: and if it did exsist, it certainly would be more than $100. Edited September 4, 2008 by Ste

Waco Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 A good overclocking board will be able to max the Q6600 out on the stock multiplier anyway.
ccokeman Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Going up on the multiplier (Unlocked) Is reserved for the high dollar CPUs (QX9650 xQX9770) The Q6600 is a great chip for the money but you can only adjust the multiplier from 6 to 9. Not sure what features you want but this board from Gigabyte meets the requirement of being able to adjust the multiplier between 6 and 9. linkage
