Nine Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 After about 3 years of faithful service, the fan which [i assume] is cooling my Nforce4 chipset on my DFI LanParty UT nF4 SLI-D motherboard has worn out its bearing or something, beccause it's making a lot of noise. Can anyone help me figure out what kind of fan/heatsink I can replace it with? Thanks in advance - Chris

wevsspot Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Evercool VC-RE? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7391012270049026981 Definitely. Evercool VC-RE is a superb replacement and I highly recommend it.
Nine Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 This seems perfect, but unfortunately it's not sold where I live (Norway). I found a shop in the UK which sells them (link), but they are out of stock atm. Are there any good alternatives out there? Only one I've found is called Vantec IceberQ (no link, sorry), but I'm not sure if it fits. Or, could someone reccomend a decent online store that sells the Evercool and ships to Norway?
wevsspot Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 The Vantec should also fit. It seems that back in the day there were confirmations that the IceberQ would fit. I know for a fact that the Evercool VC-RE does. Pull up the spec. sheets on both of them and compare the dimensions. The two primary ones you would be concerned with are the diameter (specifically center to center width between the push pins), and also the height. RHKCommander959 Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 take the fan out, mount a cheap 40mm/50mm/60mm fan with hot glue or so  diy-style. otherwise vantec or evercool's are good 'ens too. might be able to find someone with a dead mobo to send you one:confused:
