powsmowl Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Im looking for a good soundcard for my upcoming rig, and was looking mainly at the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer and Music. I would like to ask the owners of either of those cards what their experiences with them were (are) and if they had any trouble with them on Intel chipset based motherboards? radodrill Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 If I had know I would have gone with the XtremeMusic over the XtremeGamer. The XtremeGamer has an internal header for the SP-DIF IO and only suppurts optical SP-DIF out through the rear ports, while the XtremeMusic is compatible with SP-DIF IO through the rear ports when combined with an add-on module.
