bigmit37 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I want to upgrade to 2 gigs. At the moment, I have 2x512 of some OCZ ram. I read on these forums that it's a bad idea to fill all 4 slots... So I figured I would just get 2x1 gig. I am not in a rush, so if anything goes on sale, I will jump on it. So a few recommendations would be great. Thank you. Sharp Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Hello, If you can find some, a 2x1GB PC4000 kit would be the one to go for. OCZ have a PC3200 2x1gb XTC kit rated at 2-3-2-5. http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...el_platinum_xtc This is a good one to get, if you are into overclocking it may be able to run at 3-3-2-8@250Mhz. G.skill ZX http://www.gskill.com/en/f1-3200phu2-2gzx.html or this http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk/new-pro...000-2gb-kit.asp All decent DDR1 kits are now rare. godlyatheist Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Do you have any overclocking experience with the gskill zx? My hz just died and gskill is replacing it w/ zx. All the reviews say they do 250mhz but i think they got handpicked kits.....
Sharp Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I haven't but most will do 250Mhz. Did you have the PC4000 HZ? If so I would have thought that they would match the spec or offer the next best equivalent.

sunnyeagle Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I have OCZ. What you see in my sig. Works just fine. I just put some in a friends computer this weekend. He likes them also. I have not overclocked anything and he notice the difference right away. I also flash the bios on his, like I did mine to set memory to run little faster.
