Repr Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 with the current prices i decided now is a good time to make a pre-emmtive strike and upgrade to 4gb of memory. i know win xp wont recognise it, but then, its dirt cheap and vista will come sooner or later. what i do wonder is why i rarely read anything about kingston ram on here. i currently have 2x 1gb Kingston HyperX ddr2-6400 cl4 and would probebly get another 2x1gb if id decide to upgrade. but if there is a real reason other then just randomness why noone here uses it i could always buy some nice memory (G.E.I.L ram seems to be very very cheap atm as well, or corsair...or anything) and throw the hyperX in my backup system (though i love my blue sticks they are so....blue!!) CPDMF Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Nothing wrong with Kingston. You don't see much of it because other high end brands were pushed here so most would either have those or the lower priced stuff. They all have access to the same IC's and PCB's so every company can build the exact same modules.
tomb9712 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Kingston is not a bad brand but they generally don't bin for the tightest timing or fastest speeds. It's name brand generic ram.
