syneze Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 It depends if you want to run a higher FSB and use a memory divider or run the FSB/mem in a 1:1 ratio... can't really compare them as they're for different purposes. It's been shown extensively though that a lower FSB with tighter timings typically outperforms a higher FSB with very relaxed timings. Go with the Mushkin. dino-new Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Try OCZ, I got some pc4200 and it's awesome. I got the advanced timing series. it'll do cl2.5 at the full rated 533 mhz. Anyways, I like it and I saw that alot of oc'ers do too. My 2 Nickles Devin
MJ0588 Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 i would go for Mushkin lvl 2 pc-3200, its cheaper than the 3500, and its sexy bh-5, feed this the right volts, and it will outperform the kingston pc-4000, whatever you get i would get BH-
syneze Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Looks like OCZ PC3500 Platinum EL is giving Mushkin lvl 2 a run for the money... http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.html?i=1914 http://www.techdot.com/articles.php?action=show&id=28 they use BH5 chips too 2-2-2-5 at 235FSB...dizamn
smithy Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 Mushkin vs Kingston? No comparison--Mushkin with it's tight settings CL2-2-2-6 for AMD and 2-3-2-6 for Intels. It has the Winbond BH-5 chips and run a very good overclocking abilities. to to Mushkin.com to details. I have 3500ddrs for my Athlon system and run tight at 2-2-2-6 but am going to try it soon at 2-2-2-5. at 217mhz. http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushkin.stor...uct/View/991097

Dignan Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 About the kingston Don't buy the kingston, every review on that says it won't acutally hit 250 FSB. I think everyone else is right the OCZ just is right there in the performance category, especially for the money. And like syneze said 2-2-2-5 at 235FSB...dizamn

DevilMB3017 Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Mushkin 4000 - its guarteened to hit DDR500 at like 3-3-3-7, with BH-5 chips which will do DDR400 at 2-2-2-6 on nForce stuff. Really GREAT stuff.
