SLI-DR Expert & Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme

Hi

 

I have a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert which is Socket 939.

 

I would like to buy a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Heatsink but am confused as the the extra parts that I need.

 

I need that I need the 939 retention clip. http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...t-Thru-Kit.htm

 

Do I also need the K8 motherboard backplate? Or anthing else?

Hi,

It looks like you will need to buy a metal backplate. Per the installation instructions for your Cooler.

 

"If your backplate is of plastic (such as in the case for some Gygabyte and DFI motherboards), replace it with a metal backplate before going to the next step."

If you want a fan/fans on it, you need to acquire one separately.
