Some_Guy_ Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 You'll never overclock on that board. Is that board in a HP Pavilion? You've got a good CPU, but the board won't let you have any fun with it.
poohbear0007 Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 unfortunately, it is in an hp pavilion. i have worked all the bugs out of it and love it now. guess i'll just have to change the mb and chip. if that's possible. lol
justinal Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 ya you might have to you could just get a different mobo the chip should be ok if money is tight
Mist Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 err u mean gut it? You cant use the case, psu, and mobo so basicaly just sell it and put together a cheap system.

The old Pavilion I had (6645C) had a true ATX type PSU, and the case would fit a micro-ATX mobo perfectly. There's no reason you can't swap out the board, keep the CPU, and get yourself a video card (because the pavilion likely had onboard video). If money is tight, then you only have to put in a minimum amount of cash.
Mist Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 I had an 8665c (the front drive cage is up in my room still witht he cd, cdrw, and floppy drives still in it) and u couldnt do squat with it as far as swapping the mobo.
poohbear0007 Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 just wanted to say thanks for all the advice. i have had some success with a program called cpufsb, which has so far resulted in a minor increase to 905.6mhz testing and increasing as heat allows. lol
Some_Guy_ Posted November 27, 2003 Posted November 27, 2003 733 to 905 on a non oc-friendly board is respectable.
