kyr Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I have a Dell 2407WFP monitor. Would this be a good choice in video card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130082 Thanks for any help!
AnUnknownSource Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 That certainly is a decent card, but I wouldn't be buying your Video Card based on what monitor you have... You can probably find a better price than that too... but if you do buy from Newegg, follow the links in people's signature here in the forum... it helps the forum out :-)
Guest r3d c0m3t Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Well, you have two options...since your monitor has a native res. of 1920x1200 you'll be much better off with the 640 or 768MB models, primarily because they can cope with the higher resolutions better than the 320 can. Or...you could buy two 320's and run them in SLI. All in all, the GTS 320 is still going to be pretty much more powerful than any other card currently on the market.
Kingfisher Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Are you a gamer? If so go with the larger RAM version of the 8800GTS or even the 8800GTX I doubt you will find better prices or better service anywhere other than Newegg.
kyr Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Thank you all very much for your input! Yes, I am a gamer. Ok, so for a hundred more I can get the 640 mb version of the 8800 gts. If thats a better fit for my monitor than that will be great. From what I've read on the forums most people agree that evga is the way to go. And yes I will definately use the add to get to newegg so that the site gets credit for the sale. Thanks again guys!
OsamaBinAthlon+ Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 You can get a GTS for like $360 now after rebates. I recommend EVGA. I have a 640mb 8800GTS that I use for 1920*1080 it's nice.

stringerB Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I am using that same card right now, at 1280x1024, and it pretty much rocks. I will be future proofing by upgrading before the end of the 90 day period. Donations will be accepted for the GTX of my choice.
