Zylbar Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 In my LanParty Nf4 SLI, i was running 2048LLPRO Corsair DDR433 PC3500. I finally got another set off ebay. Each set runs fine alone. MemTest86 tests all 2048 MB. But when I put both sets in, so all 4 slots are filled, the BIOS (and MemTest86) only go up to 3.1 GB instead of 4GB. What do I have to do to enable 4GB? thanks,
Coors Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 WinXP 32 bit will not show all four gigs...not much you can do.
Zylbar Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 The problem is that the BIOS doesn't see it all and MemTest86 doesn't test the full 4G range when all the DIMMs are installed. I run XP Pro 64, and have upgraded to Vista-64 so I thought I would finally see 4GB even in windows. Maybe it's the experimental BIOS. Maybe I should reflash my BIOS? thanks,
Guest Blooz1 Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 With all banks full, you'll need to run at 2T. According to Tasr in this post; http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...336&postcount=3 you'll also need to enable the "memory hole" option found under "Advanced Chipset Features" to remap the ram and enable the system to see all 4 gigs. I don't know whether this will show up in Memtest86 or not - I guess you'll just have to try it to find out!
