weird temp change...

i put new as5 on my cpu and my cpu temps dropped about 2 degrees from original. so i was like sweet. then i glanced down at my psu temp.

which is usualy about 38-39c idle, and about 41-42c loaded.

now they are at 36load and 35 idle.

has anyone seen this happen before?

anyone think it should be something to worry about?

oh ya, this is all air cooling, silverstone 120mm intake in front, silverstone 80mill intake sidepannel, and dual silverstone 80mm exausts on the back. psu is in sig.

thanks,

Taterz

Have your room ambient temperatures changed? Decreasing any temp say PWMIC, chipsets or case will affect other components.

Things that can change your temperatures; load, ambient temperatures, dirty and/or changed cooling.

room temp stayed about the same, maybe a decrease of a degree or 2.

but thats around what i was thinking.

thanks

See what happens when you unplug the Silverstone 120mm intake fan.

If the temps drop then put a fan contoller on it.

Also try the same thing with the side fan.

More fans are not always better.

With case airflow you can get the same cooling as a non-chilled water system IF you have the airflow correct...in-out flow in a dirrect line across the PWMIC/CPU/RAM.

The system in my sig has a 950Mhz OC and runs just 2C above room temps.

The 7900GT runs 21C above room temps while benchmarking it for an hour.

all the fans are on fan controllers and are usualy kept around 1300-1500rpms, unless im gaming, then i bring them up to about 2000-2400.

i have disconnected the side 80mm, and my temps rose by about a degree, and the 120 is my main intake.

overall i have good cooling, i just thought it was kinda weird to have a 4 degree drop on something that i barly looked at, let alone touched..
