General Septem Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 They sell the SI-128, which is basically a newer version of the SI-120. Surprisingly they still sell the XP-120.
kulo Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 i like that si-128 only 500ish grams ultra 120 is like 700ish grams alot lighter then hmm hard decision got a xp90 right now. want a 120mm fan heatsink for better cooling i was gunna get the xp120, cos there's a few of them going around i heard u can use the orange dimm slots? but on this video u can clearly seeing him using the orange dimm slots http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...244816&q=xp-
General Septem Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 That's precisely why he put the RAM in there in the video, to prove that you can. The SI-128 is a great cooler from what I hear. There have been several 3GHz entries using it and its little brothers (namely, the XP-120 and SI-120). But from what I hear the Ultra-120 cools a little better. However the SI-128 will also cool the area around the CPU (such as your RAM and MOSFETs). If you are going to get the SI-128, I'd probably recommend the ThermalTake Big Typhoon instead. It features the same design, but it has twice the heat pipes. Many will say that after the Tuniq Tower 120 it's the best CPU heat sink you can get. General Septem Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 thanks for the replys all i've decided to get a xp-120 If you haven't ordered yet, the SI-128 is a little better. But it's your choice, and from what I hear they are both great coolers.
Rossoevo Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 I agree with the General The SI-128 has the edge over the XP-120. Think I am right in saying the 128 uses thicker heat pipes 8mm instead of 6mm. Have a rethink if you havn't ordered already.
