boot menu

Recommended Posts

after pressing escape it doesn't stay on the screen long enough to set anything. is it just an indicator?

I think I disabled all the boot options. suppose I wanted to do a repair on the operating system. do I have to reenable boot from cd to get it to operate?

I think what you are referring to as the "boot menu", the screen the comes up as kind of a diagnostic of what's in your system and such, is actually the "post" screen. The purpose is just to indicate what the mobo is detecting.

If you are looking to repair the os then you are going to have to go into the bios, by hitting delete during the "post" screen, then change your boot order so that the cd rom drive is the first thing the mobo tries to boot from, it will find your os cd and take you through the repair process. Hope that answers your question but if not just keep asking. :)
