ripken204 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835119079 i just noticed this at newegg. any real differences between this and the vc-re besides the extra heatsinks and i think a somewhat different type of mounting? does anyone have this and knows that it fits and cool the same as the vc-re? whowalks Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 It looks the same except for the mounting holes the other ones extend out further check out angrey aaammm happy games tute on the everclear install and you'll see what i mean. those mounting holes look too close (unless they made the sink bigger)
dbilz Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Looks the same but if someone feels like helping out the community and buying/testing it I think we would all be appreciated.
BadWillHunting Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835119079i just noticed this at newegg. any real differences between this and the vc-re besides the extra heatsinks and i think a somewhat different type of mounting? does anyone have this and knows that it fits and cool the same as the vc-re? The mounting pins are different and not spaced exactly the same... well, to clarify, they are spaced the same, but on the VC-RE, there is more "play" to work with than on the VC-RF, since the VC-RE has more flexibility in the metal bracket the pins are mounted to. either will work, and we have dfi-streeters running both, but if you want "easy", I'd stick with the VC-RE. The VC-RF has been used as a solution more by those in areas were it's hard to get the VC-RE.... why the availability would be different between the two is somewhat of a mystery, since both come from Evercool.
