eNforcer Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 So yeah, well, after overclocking to 2.6 GHz I lost about 1000 points on 3dmark '06 and the bench of CS:S dropped 50 FPS. Video card stayed at stock speed. Now that I've set bios settings to default I'm back to normal. What are some bios settings that could cause something like this? red930 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 If you only changed the HTT(FSB), vcore, vdimm, timings and couple other easy settings in the bios you should be fine. One thing i've noticed is that you have alot of harddrives and not sure how many optical drives you own. If your overclock was good you probably have a PSU issue. You have so many devices maybe that 520watt PSU is not effiecient enough. There is just one setting you have to make sure you disable if it even exists in the bios. The Processor (CPU) Throttle. Note: BTW, you might want to change that statement underneath your name since it's unacceptable here in our forums. You know what i'm talking about? Burky Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Is your system stable as it is now?
eNforcer Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 It's perfectly stable at stock speeds and with the overclock I had. Mack27: Thanks for the tip. About the PSU, That's a good point ... though as my system is stable and FPS is otustanding at stock speeds I'm a little hesitant to buy myself a more powerful PSU.
