Daddyjaxx Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Orange slots...probably. You can try yellow as well, but orange usually gives the best stability.

kr0z Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Orange = stable Yellow = unstable?! I don't get it. So if I buy 2 x 1GB Matched DDR 400 sticks I can expect to see my system unstable 50% of the time!???!

So if I buy 2 x 1GB Matched DDR 400 sticks I can expect to see my system unstable 50% of the time!???! Heh... No... Let's play a game! Called "Match those colored slots!"...where you choose Orange-Orange, or Yellow-Yellow...not mixed, otherwise you won't achieve dual channel, which is what you want. Your system is only as stable as your able to tweak it...

Reinvented Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 err..ahem.... Hah! It will depend solely on which bios version you are using. Check the Stock Speed Database for a list of possible memory settings that you can use. After that and it's still unstable, tweak some of those options until it sets in.
