freakyGameR Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 my gygabyte case have 1 front intake fans 2 rear exhaust fans and all of 'em runs at 1000rpm each other (they didnt mention the cfm) my NMB fan on the xp-90 runs at 96(ite smartguardian) which i think close to 50 cfm.. The question is.. how much CFM (minimal required) that i should set it up to my cpu??? Confusion....
KimTjik Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I don't think you could talk about a minimum requirement. Everyone would be happy if you didn't need any fans at all; nice and quiet. You have to be guided by temperatures. My own even OC:ed to 2.5GHz doesn't need the fan at all to run usual "office" applications. So I program the software/hardsware to adjust according to temperatures.
freakyGameR Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 ok then But let say i wanna to reduce my pwmic (58C at Loads).. have any suggestion? thanx...
KimTjik Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 That's pretty hot, even though it might not be critical. When it comes to the pwmic area the first and most vital step is to increase overall airflow in the case. Of what size are the exhaust and intake fans? Next you could also direct a fan directly at the area. You got some thoughts about temperatures here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=87397
cronocrash Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I think the best way to drop PWMIC temps is with a fan directed at it. When I turn off the vertical fan on my CM Stacker my PWMIC temps jump right up.
Oceanborn Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Any fan that can push 40cfm for the xp-90 will do it.... cuz the heavy work is done by the HS anyway....
freakyGameR Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 all intake and exhaust fans are 12cm.. with 1000rpm (i dont know the cfm though).. Cronocrash.. how did u mount the vertical fans inside the case?? Did u use any additional fan bracket or just modding them?? thanx...
freakyGameR Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 anyway my nmb fans(mounted on the xp-90) can push as far as 69.1cfm. But sadly it was not silent... I ran it about 75(on ite smartguardian) i think its about 40-50 cfm.. Not sure..
