Since i am reading a lot of different stories on OC'ng the 3800+ and the used Vcore, i would like to see if i can find an average that should work for everybody. rules of this poll are:

1. Vcore = BIOS value (don't care about ANY windows reading)

2. MEM = 1:1 with HTT = 200Mhz setting in DRAM settings

3. confirming you can do a certain setting means you've tested 24H dual core Prime stable.

3. all other settings are free

Also note the CPU VID Specials ARE taken into account:

understand that 1.350v *110% makes a 1.485v Vcore

Choose your highest OC you've achieved taken above into account

This is a great poll...Now we get to see how these babies really cook...I was surprised that no one was believing my 2.5Ghz overclock at 1.39 volts...I mean the 4600+ does 2400Mhz at that same voltage right? So what's another 100MHz...

not a bad oc ...harder to oc with 2 gigs of ram, and i have heard most people have trouble with dfi and corsair,,,you seem to have a good oc with nice tight timings!

Well, I had it running at 2400 MHz @ 1.32 V. I was happy with that speed until I saw this thread. Now it is 3 AM and I am tweaking when I should be in bed. Oh well. Wouldn't do 2500 MHz at 1.32 V, so I added a 104% Vid Special and it is now working fine at this speed and shows 1.38 V in the bios. Passed SuperPI with no problem. I just need to dual prime and see what happens. Got the RAM to do 250 by dropping the CAS to 3 as well. Temps did not chage either, which is nice. BBL with prime results.

Im looking at purcahsing this cpu and it looks liek it overclocks very well. Just wondering if anyone here has used water cooling to OC these bad boys yet. From what Im rading it seems as though everyone is uing air cooling. Anyone have any water cooling results?

Mine is water cooled..

2500mhz im pretty sure it was stock vcore or maybe a very very slight bump..

2600mhz with 1.5vcore totally prime stable.. 289x9 1:1 with ballisitx ram 2gig's

2700mhz with 1.55v+104%=1.612vcore prime stable with my ballistix 1:1.
