WakeUpDead Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I've been looking for a replacement for the chipset for quite some time. I may just try this one, looks good and like it would cool better. As for the ATI thing, I get 38-40c on my chipset and I run a X1900XT flashed to XTX. It can get hotter when my wife cranks the heater though. I still would like to replace it with one of these Vantech ones. Great job and mod Sorrento!

Eagle_Eye Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I have to wonder though... Hmm i know you used screws with springs... i got barley about 1 week to mod the none pro version.. since due to a lack of time to find the propper nut and screw and spring, is it alright to re-use the plastic push pins that come with the original?? and did u re-use the same protective foam? or did u make you're own? Sorrento Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Sure, its just that in my case one of the pins was damaged when I removed them... impatient me. I think you can also use the Vantec ones since they don't require to be to long with the Vantec. Btw, playing Oblivion right now... rotating 3rd person view, and CPU temperature is 38° C (2.75ghz/1.58v Opteron 175), PWM 46° and nF4 chipset 41° C... all this at hot 27.1° C room temperature.
