No video with 2 cards

Hello,

I cannot get my SLI rig to work with both cards in and jumpers set appropriately.

Both work individually. The video goes blank after the windows splash screen however the drives are still whirring away loading the OS.

Any thoughts would be great.

Cheers

Hey Technodanvan,

I am using single vid card now. I have not moved the VGA cable form it's existing placement and get video...are you saying in SLI I may need to move to another DVI out? Does it matter which one is in use?

Torch,

Do you want me to boot the machine in SLI mode with one vid card unpowered and then connect it while it is booting to Windoze?

Thanks,

Derf

No i mean , change the monitor cable from one card to the other ,when the screen goes blank and you should get your Desktop on the Screen.

Then make your SLI setting, power down your Machine , change your Cable to the other card,Boot.

I had the same prob and solved it like that.

Howdy,

Thanks for the advice. I was using the top card and the cards only use DVI out. The problem is fixed. Looks like I had too much faith in Windows and could install without updating drivers. I uninstalled the 81.85 drivers. Rebooted and was off to the races. Windows picked up both cards and installed the 81.85's again.

Thanks for the suggestions.
