sebek Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Hey all ran superpi and occt with my processor at this speed and everything worked out okay. So I started playing with my ram timings and it passes superpi no sweat but when I do occt I get an error. What I am wondering is what I should do from here. Which settings should I play around with to try and figure out a stable overclock. current specs/voltages/settings included in my sig
HoUnD Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Hmm Im p95 stable at 255FSB at 3.4v with the same RAM. Maybe that winnie has a not so good mem controller? Other then that your settings in your sig should be stable as they are very close to mine.
itella Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Got my mushkin today! Wich dimm slots are you using? mushkin recommends yellow but I have seen people having them in orange!?
sebek Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 running them in the yellow slots so they dont interfere with my cpu heatsink Anyone got any ideas where i should start with my timings?
loc.o Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 2-2-2-5 timings (in cpuz etc) should be 2-2-5-2 in bios, i assume youve got that right..?
craneman Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 3.5vdimm is pretty high to be just running 250MHz 2-2-2 IMO. My Mushkin runs 260 easily with only 3.3v. Have you tried doing a burn in?
sebek Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 yeah its 2-2-5-2 in cpu-z i havnt done a burn in on the ram, should I give that a go?

sebek Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 okay i fixed that up but still no go on the OCCT test it goes for 26min and then i get an error. superpi is fine though
JiminyC Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 try, just once, setting your ram to auto but just enableing cpc. Run cpu-z when it boots to see what settings it's showing in memory then compare to spd. Maybe I am dumb, but I always start there. The board is damn good and does a very good job on auto settings, at least for me to start with. Then I know what the board is doing then I tweak from there. I also know that particular ram is finicky and not to forgiving with wrong settings
